4 Teeth

Almost two weeks ago Justin had to have 4 teeth pulled. Luckily they were baby teeth but this didn't make it any easier on Dad or I. You see, Justin was fine, he handled the whole thing like a trooper. Dave and I were a wreck. Dave outwardly (though not in front of Justin) and me inwardly. I was terrified for the poor kid. He is so sensitive and I didn't want him to be terrified to go to the dentist. Justin had a few questions about the whole thing, mostly "will it hurt". You see, one of his classmates had a tooth pulled and she told him how badly it hurt!

The day came and I kept him home from school, since his appointment was late morning. We got to the dentist and they brought him into this cool little room. He got a movie to watch from a tv wich swiveled aorund so he could see it while they administered laughing gas. They then numbed his gums with a gel and once that kicked in they "pinched" his gums (the dentisits term - I loved it! He didn't even know he got a shot! She piched his finger to show him what it would feel like and then she swung her arm around nice and low so he never saw the needle). Once he got nice and numb she got all 4 teeth out and then it was up to me. I got him home and got him some soft food and rest.

By the time the next day rolled around he said he was fine but very tired. He didn't sleep well the night before though he never complianed of any pain " it doesn't hurt, just a little sore mom" he said. He was more excited when he saw what the tooth fairy brought him. You see, she brings extra money to those who have healthy teeth that need to be pulled - I didn't know that!

Now his teeth have some room to come in and hopefully his one tooth will start to move foward. The picture is a little blurry but you can get a good idea of what a gummy grin my little tropper now has.
